Join our reading group

In the Small Matters reading group we explore multispecies death by reading texts from death and queer death studies, posthuman and feminist theory and environmental philosophy, sociology and education, with a focus on the ‘small’ (e.g. children, other small animals and nonhuman creatures).

Please join if you are interested in multidisciplinary pondering around death and dying! We collaboratively decide on which texts to read: lately we have been fascinated by the Routledge International Handbook of Queer Death Studies and previously we read Sarah Coombs’ book Young People’s Perspectives on End-of-Life and Nina Lykke’s Vibrant Death.

NB: We just had our last reading group of the academic year, but we will continue September 2026!
